(For those of you who haven’t checked my YouTube or Odysee channels, this article covers all the same information as in my latest videos. I’ve also set up a Rumble channel for the time being.)
Hi, I’m Alex, but you may know me as “Denshi”.
I’ve been making YouTube videos under that name since I was 13. Maybe you’ve seen my videos on Scratch, Chris Chan, Traditional Catholic Groups, or my myriad of Linux-and-tech related videos. Regardless of how they’ve encountered it, my channel has touched the lives of millions of people. I’m here today to talk about it.
Part I: Demonetization
On August 19th, 2025, I received a Community Guidelines warning from YouTube for violating their “violent criminal organizations” policy.
The culprit in question was a 22-second YouTube short of my brother reading part of “Industrial Society and its Future”, the manifesto of Theodore Kaczynski (a book that, mind you, can be found in its entirety, unedited, on YouTube.)
I decided to appeal the strike, thinking this was just a simple AI mistake. The appeal was almost immediately rejected, so I moved on to the next recommended step: completing the required YouTube “policy training” in hopes of regaining monetization after 90 days.
After completing this glorified humiliation ritual, I noticed I was being given no information on my YouTube studio page about the status of my channel. I contacted YouTube support and received an email stating my channel had been permanently demonetized, and that this was irreversible.
I want to make it completely clear: I have never promoted any kind of violence on my channel, nor will I in the future. I just find this entire situation inexplicable. Content related to “The Industrial Revolution and its Consequences” is plentiful on YouTube: there are dozens of videos on the Unabomber discussing his life, actions and ideology on the platform, but my 22-second parody short gets my entire channel demonetized?
I find it very ironic that the email I’ve received purports to offer a “final, clear explanation” when literally none was provided. I have no explanation other than a crazy glitch in the YouTube guidelines system, or possibly, a targeting of my channel.
Part II: Shadowbanning
What I’m about to say is entirely speculation, but I have reason to believe YouTube is targeting my channel not just with this permanent demonetization, but also by shadowbanning one of my videos.
Remember when I mentioned my most popular videos at the beginning? Well there’s one entry I haven’t mentioned yet…
In the summer of 2023, I produced an audiobook of the open-source self-help novel, “The Easy Peasy Way to Quit Pornography”. The video has gone on to receive over 600,000 views, and judging by the comments, has helped tons of people overcome their addiction.
Around 2 months ago, I started receiving comments on my audiobook from users stating they weren’t able to find it when searching on YouTube. I tried this myself, and I couldn’t find my own video. It hadn’t been demonetized or age restricted, and there were instances where even searching it with my username yielded no results.
Other videos related to the subject, including those that have the dreaded “P-word” in the title, are easily discoverable on YouTube.
I have no other explanation; I’ve been shadowbanned.
Like I said earlier, this is just speculation on my end. You might not care about my channel, or me, and that’s OK: I don’t expect you to. A couple million views and 45,000 subscribers are just a blip in the grand scheme of things.
But what I hope people take away from this video is YouTube’s unacceptable behavior. They’re essentially bullying and censoring my channel.
Part III: How You can Help
I’ve been making videos for nearly 7 years. In that time, I’ve never once asked for a subscription, a bell, a like or really anything from the audience. I have nothing against YouTubers who do, it’s just not my style. However, I’ll make an exception today, by asking those who are able to please donate via Monero, Bitcoin, or PayPal, all linked here:

Part IV: Thank You
(This next section is a collection of just some emails comments I’ve received over the years. In my video on the subject, I read them out loud to my audience.)
Thanks again to everyone who has ever supported me, whether it was through reading my articles, watching my videos, listening to my music, or anything else of the sort. I love everything I do, and I wouldn’t be able to do it without everyone who enjoys it.
